Xbox Game Pass August 2026 Wave 2 Games Revealed

Aug 18, 2026

Xbox Game Pass is closing out August 2026 with another sizable batch of games, including several day-one releases and one of the month’s biggest additions: Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.

Microsoft revealed the second wave of August Game Pass titles on Tuesday, August 18, bringing a varied lineup of action, platforming, roguelites, life sims, and narrative adventures to subscribers across Xbox consoles, PC, cloud, and supported handheld devices.

Here’s everything coming to Xbox Game Pass during the second half of August and into the beginning of September.

Egging On – August 18

Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, and PC

Already available as part of the latest update, Egging On puts players in control of a surprisingly fragile egg attempting to escape from a henhouse.

Players will need to jump, roll, and climb through increasingly dangerous environments including a farm shop and factory. The game is now available with Game Pass Premium and joins Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

Vapor World: Over the Mind – August 19

Cloud, Console, and PC

One of the new day-one Game Pass releases is Vapor World: Over the Mind, which arrives August 19 for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.

The narrative-driven souls-like platformer follows a boy trapped within a twisted dream world. Players descend through a shattered mind in search of lost memories while exploring environments shaped by sorrow and regret.

Combat places an emphasis on deflection as players confront the threats lurking within the dream.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect X – August 19

Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

BlazBlue Entropy Effect X brings fast-paced roguelite action from the BlazBlue universe to more Game Pass subscribers.

Featuring detailed 2D visuals and responsive combat, the game encourages players to experiment with different characters and abilities while fighting through its roguelite encounters.

The Game Pass arrival also comes as Platinum joins the roster through a free major content update.

Relooted – August 19

Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

Also arriving August 19 is Relooted, an Africanfuturist heist game centered around reclaiming African artifacts from Western museums.

Players recruit a crew, plan escape routes, recover artifacts, and attempt to make it out before everything goes wrong.

Relooted joins Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass while also becoming available through Game Pass Premium.

Starsand Island – August 20

Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

Players looking for something considerably more relaxing can check out Starsand Island beginning August 20.

The pastoral life simulator lets players settle into island life while fishing, exploring, and building relationships with animals including cats, dogs, and capybaras.

There’s also the mysterious Moonlit Forest to explore for anyone wanting a little adventure between the quieter moments.

Aerial_Knight’s DropShot – August 25

Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, and PC

Things get considerably faster on August 25 with the arrival of Aerial_Knight’s DropShot.

Described as a stylized FPS racer, DropShot follows Smoke Wallace, whose unusual superpowers allow him to fire bullets directly from his fingertips.

Players will race rivals, battle dragons, and combine shooting mechanics with high-speed movement.

Blood Dungeon – August 25

Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

Another day-one release arrives August 25 with Blood Dungeon.

From the creators of Nidhogg, Blood Dungeon combines 2D platforming with survival mechanics as players parkour through dangerous dungeons while avoiding monsters and collecting blood and power-ups.

Successful runs earn bones that can be spent at the Bone Shop to become stronger, while quests unlock additional upgrades, arenas, and cosmetic skins.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy – August 27

Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, and PC

The headline addition of the latest Game Pass update arrives August 27.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will be available through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from day one.

The adventure follows Sophia as she journeys to Minotaur’s Island, where deadly trials, puzzles, treacherous terrain, and a pursuing army stand between her and the truth.

But the island is also hiding something much more dangerous — a terrifying creature connected to the legend of the Minotaur.

For fans of the A Plague Tale universe, Resonance is easily one of the biggest Game Pass additions of the month.

Young Suns – August 31

Cloud, Console, and PC

Young Suns reaches its 1.0 release on August 31 and joins the latest Game Pass lineup.

Set following a successful revolution on Jupiter, the narrative life simulator allows players to explore planetoids, abandoned ruins, and converted space stations.

Players can experience the adventure alone or alongside a crew of up to three friends while helping Jupiter’s citizens rebuild their lives.

Shelldiver – September 1

Cloud, Console, and PC

The August Wave 2 announcement stretches slightly into September with Shelldiver arriving September 1.

This incremental game follows an elderly turtle who catches jellyfish and sells them from a small shop.

Players can upgrade equipment, explore different underwater biomes, venture deeper into the ocean, and help the local turtle community.

Wolfenstein 3D Is Also Available

Xbox also highlighted the return of the classic Wolfenstein 3D, which became available through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on August 12.

The influential first-person shooter can now be played on Xbox Series X|S and through Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Several Games Are Leaving Game Pass

As new games arrive, several others are preparing to leave.

On August 31, Game Pass will lose:

  • Another Crab’s Treasure
  • I Am Your Beast
  • Neon Abyss
  • One Lonely Outpost
  • The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Remastered Edition

NBA 2K26 will follow shortly afterward, leaving Game Pass on September 6.

Anyone currently playing these titles may want to prioritize finishing them before they’re removed from the service.

A Strong Finish for Xbox Game Pass in August

Xbox’s second August Game Pass wave offers an unusually broad selection of experiences.

Players looking for a major narrative adventure have Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, while Vapor World: Over the Mind and Blood Dungeon provide new day-one options for players interested in more challenging action.

Meanwhile, games such as Starsand Island, Young Suns, and Shelldiver give subscribers several slower-paced alternatives.

With releases continuing through September 1, Games Pass subscribers should have plenty to choose from as the summer release calendar begins transitioning toward the busy fall gaming season.
