Nintendo Reveals Two New Switch 2 Bundles With Mario Kart World and Sports Resort

Nintendo Reveals Two New Switch 2 Bundles With Mario Kart World and Sports Resort

Aug 25, 2026

Nintendo is giving players two new ways to jump into the Nintendo Switch 2 ecosystem, unveiling a pair of console bundles built around Mario Kart World and the upcoming Nintendo Switch Sports Resort.

Both packages include a Nintendo Switch 2 console, a digital copy of the featured game and a three-month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership. With the standard Switch 2 system set to increase to $499.99 on September 1, the new bundles could provide some added value for players who haven’t made the jump to Nintendo’s latest hardware yet.

Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle

The first of the two packages is the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle, scheduled to arrive in late September.

Priced at $549.99, the package includes:

  • Nintendo Switch 2 console
  • Digital download of Mario Kart World
  • Three-month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership

Nintendo says the package represents a savings of $37.98 compared with purchasing the console, game and membership separately.

Mario Kart World expands Nintendo’s long-running racing franchise with massive interconnected environments that players can race through and explore. The game combines the traditional fast-paced Mario Kart experience with a much larger world that gives players more freedom when they’re not battling for first place.

For anyone already planning to pick up Mario Kart World alongside a new Switch 2, the bundle offers a relatively straightforward way to get both.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Bundle Arrives October 22

Nintendo’s second bundle will arrive alongside Nintendo Switch Sports Resort on October 22.

The Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Bundle will retail for $529.99 and includes:

  • Nintendo Switch 2 console
  • Digital download of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort
  • Three-month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership

Nintendo values the savings on this package at $27.98 compared with buying everything separately.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort takes players to Wuhu Island, bringing the fan-favorite location back as the setting for a new collection of motion-controlled activities.

Players can customize a Sportsmate or Mii character before competing across 12 different sports.

The lineup includes activities such as Boxing, Archery, Bowling, Prop Plane, Power Cruising, Thumb Wrestling and even Jump Rope.

The focus on motion controls and local multiplayer makes Sports Resort a particularly interesting option for families and groups looking for something that showcases a different side of the Switch 2 than Nintendo’s more traditional releases.

The Bundles Arrive Following the Switch 2 Price Increase

The timing of Nintendo’s announcement is particularly notable.

Beginning September 1, 2026, the suggested retail price of the standard Nintendo Switch 2 console will increase to $499.99.

That makes the $529.99 Sports Resort bundle only $30 more than the new standalone console price while adding the game and three months of Nintendo Switch Online.

The Mario Kart World package costs $50 more than the standalone system’s new MSRP while similarly including a game and online membership.

For consumers already planning to purchase either title, that could make the bundles more attractive than buying the hardware by itself.

Nintendo’s stated savings are based on the suggested retail prices of the individual console, game and membership, and actual retailer pricing may vary.

Which Nintendo Switch 2 Bundle Is Better?

The answer largely comes down to what you want to play.

Players looking for high-speed competition and one of Nintendo’s biggest franchises will probably gravitate toward the Mario Kart World bundle. Meanwhile, families and players who enjoyed Wii Sports or Nintendo Switch Sports may find considerably more appeal in Nintendo Switch Sports Resort.

The Sports Resort package also has the lower upfront price at $529.99.

Either way, Nintendo is clearly trying to give prospective Switch 2 owners more reasons to buy into the platform as the holiday shopping season approaches.

The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle launches in late September for $549.99.

The Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Bundle launches October 22 for $529.99, with preorders expected to open soon through Nintendo and participating retailers.
